Bible Book: Jeremiah
Now that we understand the Christian life is not lived on a playground but is instead carried out on a battleground where attacks from the enemy are ever present, we can now begin investigating what it takes to defend ourselves. What does it take? The full armor of God! Paul, in Ephesians 6 informs us about the armor we GET to put on each day.
When you include regular prayer and fasting as part of your relationship with Jesus, you will not regret it. God is faithful, He is just, and He always fulfills His promises. Especially for those who are closest to Him. You want to be closer to Jesus, start praying daily and adding in fasting for more urgent matters.
Jeremiah’s story provides us with a picture of how Jesus’ ministry would unfold. Not only was Jeremiah a prophet called by God to speak truth to His people, but he also served as a “type” of Christ that would help us learn and grow in the discipline of perseverance. People who persevere make the right choice, they stand by their convictions, they make sure their character remains intact, and they refuse to compromise on God’s truths.
