A committed servant of Jesus must be available, humble, obedient, faithful, and enduring. The truth is, no matter our capacity, or our talents, or our giftedness, when it comes to the service opportunities appointed to us through Jesus, complete faithfulness is required.

Are you ready and willing to commit and put in the necessary work required to become a daily worshiper of King Jesus? This message is designed to help us grow in our knowledge and our prayer life, with the hopes of becoming the Christian who worships God in “spirit and truth”.

Sometimes, it seems we can’t feel the presence of God in our hearts even though as born-again Christ followers we know that His Spirit dwells in us. At times like these we need to remember the words of Psalm 22:3 which says God is enthroned in the praises of His worshipers. We can draw closer to God and experience His presence more intimately by joyfully offering Him the praise He is due.

Biblical illiteracy and lack of spiritual maturity is quickly becoming an alarming trend across Christian churches. God – since the moment He granted Adam dominion over the earth has always encouraged His children to pursue knowledge, understanding and wisdom. He did this because He knew how desperately we would need His laws and His structure as we daily face the trials and tribulations our current culture is forcing onto the believer. We must develop a personal plan of discipleship, we must teach the next generation about God, Jesus, Salvation, and the Holy Spirit. No longer should it be acceptable to sit at home or in the pew with the attitude of, “the church doesn’t need me anymore. They have plenty of others to do that.” God expects every believer to study and then teach someone else all that God has taught them.

This is a re-recording of the message shared with the adults at our 2023 VBS. Our children are continually beset by a lying attack from our great enemy Satan. As parents, we have a duty to defend our children against these attacks by providing them a solid foundation of Biblical Truth by which they can fight against the lies of the enemy.

Psalm 19 is one of the greatest theological writings in all the Bible. In this poem, King David did a phenomenal job communicating about how awesome our Creator truly is. His words draw us to a place where all of creation can be better understood. David also informs us, that as much as God uses creation to reveal Himself to us, it is His Word, where even more is revealed. As we’ll discover in his closing prayer, King David’s intention was not to be perfect, but rather to stand before God as one who sought purity of heart and blamelessness. His desire was to avoid the things which displeased God. We can work towards this if we trust God and His Word.

All human life has intrinsic value from the moment of conception through all eternity. Our value comes not from society nor form our own sense of self-worth, but from our creator, to whom we belong.

The goodness and love of God is constant.

Congregational praise

All of us are wretched sinners – even King David who was called a “man after God’s own heart” yet was a wicked adulterer and murderer. Nevertheless, God is willing and able to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness as David himself wrote in Psalm 51 – his beautiful prayer of repentance.
