In our Revive Us series so far, we have seen that most Christians earnestly desire spiritual re-awakening in our society, in our Church, and especially in our own hearts. We have seen that we must pursue holiness through obedience to God’s Word and His Spirit’s direction, thus drawing closer to Him so that He can accomplish His work within us and through us. Furthermore, we must acknowledge the sacredness of God’s creation of mankind in His image, and seek to be worthy image bearers as He perfects us into the very image of His Son Jesus. Finally, we looked at Jesus’ admonition of the church in Ephesus, and His encouragement for us to cast our minds back to the day when He first rescued us out of death in our sins, recalling the joy and love for our Savior we felt at that time.
Hopefully, the messages in this series so far have brought us into a season of fervent prayer for revival, starting with our own hearts and moving through us into our community, our nation, and our world. But as we pray we must do so in the sure knowledge that God also desires revival in us and through us. We must pray with the expectation, that God will indeed fulfill all the promises we find in His Word regarding our Spiritual revival.
