Ministries
We are committed to loving service in the Name of Jesus in the Mountain Rest community and around the world.
For more information about any of Mt. Freedom’s ministries or if you are interested in helping out, please contact our Ministries Leader – Diane Cobb.
Food Ministry
Drive-thru grocery box distribution at Mt. Freedom 4-6PM the first Friday of each month.
Our food ministry is supported by our fellowship, and by donations from the community. We are very excited by how quickly this ministry has grown and how many families in need have been helped. The success of this ministry is purely by the grace of God for which we are deeply grateful.
You can help us in this ministry by praying that we will continue to be able to obtain the needed food, and that God will continue to bring us the people who need help with groceries. You can also help by simply spreading the word about Mt. Freedom’s food ministry around our community.
Anyone unable to come to the church and anyone needing groceries at other times may contact the church to make arrangements.
Blessing Boxes
Our blessing boxes are located along the driveway in front of the church. The box on the left is for books and other reading material. The box on the right contains essentials like non-perishable food items, toiletries, and cold weather protection (hats and gloves).
These are available 24/7 for anyone in need. The blessing boxes also allow members of the community to donate such items anytime for those who might need them.
Blessing Bags
Blessing bags are yet another opportunity for everyone in the community to minister to those in need. Each bag contains some essentials like water, snacks, and toiletries along with a short Gospel message.
You can keep blessing bags on hand in your vehicle as a means of opening a dialog with someone in need – telling them that you love and value them, and more importantly that Jesus loves us all so much, He sacrificed His own life on the cross to redeem us out of death.

About Me
My name is Harley Kelley and I grew up in a small town in Oconee County, South Carolina. In May of 2019, I graduated from Toccoa Falls College with a Bachelor of Science in Counseling/Psychology. While finishing up my senior year, I met a representative of Scripture Memory Mountain Mission and Camp Nathanael.
As a result of that encounter and after much prayer, I decided to spend my summer as a camp counselor at a summer camp where I didn’t know anyone, that I had never been to, and didn’t know anything about. From the moment that I set foot on the campus of Camp Nathanael, I knew that God had called me to serve as a part of the ministry. Spending the summer with kids who clearly had a hunger for the Gospel only served to solidify that calling in my heart.
Since then, I have been able to serve in several different capacities. Each one has further confirmed the leading of the Lord in my life to share the Gospel with both the adults and children of Eastern Kentucky.

About Scripture Memory Mountain Mission and Camp Nathanael
Scripture Memory Mountain Mission/Camp Nathanael is an inter-denominational Christian ministry established in 1932. During the past 85 years, thousands have participated in the events hosted at our 500 acre campus in eastern Kentucky.
Character Education – The mission provides teachers who are able to teach character traits such as honesty, integrity, enthusiasm, etc. to local students.
Outdoor Education – The camp is set up as a field trip destination for local schools. Students are able to come to camp and experience science/history programs taught from a Christian perspective.
Summer Camp and Weekend Overnights – These are opportunities for kids to come and stay on campus overnight either for a night or for a week.
How You Can Get Involved in Supporting My Ministry
Pray – Pray for me as I travel to share with churches and individuals to raise support. Pray for the students that I work with, that they will complete their Bible lessons and be able to attend camp in the summer.
Encouragement – Send me encouraging letters or e-mails.
Come to Camp – There is always a need for volunteers to help in the numerous ministries that Camp Nathanael has to offer. If you would be interested in serving in some capacity, I would love to discuss those opportunities with you!
Give Financially – SMMM is a faith supported mission organization. Mt. Freedom supports me financially, and you can also give through Mt. Freedom’s online giving page, or you can place cash or check donations in the little white church at the front of the Mt. Freedom sanctuary. You can also mail your gifts directly to the camp at the address above, or through the mission’s website. Make your checks payable to SMMM and mark them for “Harley” in the memo.
