Series: On Mission

All Christians must desire to do the will of God. We accomplish this by first seeking to find what God wishes to accomplish within our hearts, and then what He wishes to accomplish through us in the power of His spiritual gifts. Then we must commit to obeying God’s leading no matter what mission He sets before us. We must always be willing to take the first step in faith without knowing in full God’s plan for us.

Every person holds true to a set of values which speak to what is most important in their life. Organizations, especially churches, should hold true to the values assigned to them by God. If our core values are not in alignment with God’s Word, then we must prayerfully and honestly evaluate them and willingly make changes which will bring us back into agreement with Him. Afterall, our values dictate our behavior, unify us in our beliefs, and keep us grounded in the Word.

Every person operates with a “mission statement”. Some realize this and embrace it. Others spend most of their lives not knowing what it is that truly motivates them. A mission statement allows the world around us to see who it is we are behind the curtain. At MFBC, our purpose is found in our mission statement. The challenge becomes whether or not we truly embody its words.
