Brian Hopkins

Pastor Brian is a native of West Union, SC and has lived in Oconee County his entire life. He is passionate about teaching the Word of God and helping others become the servant-hearted disciples of Jesus that God intends them to be. Brian and his wife Shannon have been married for twenty-five years and have two sons and one grandson.Brian came to know our LORD Jesus at a young age, and quickly felt God’s strong calling to serve as a pastor. Brian served his state and country for twenty-seven years in the SC Army National Guard – the last eight of these as a battalion chaplain. Having retired from the military, Brian served as Associate Pastor of Education and Administration for Open Door Church in Walhalla, SC from 2012 until he was called to serve as pastor at Mt. Freedom Baptist Church in 2019.Brian holds a BS in Business Administration from Southern Wesleyan University and a Master of Divinity from Luther Rice Seminary and University.
