Today, more than ever in history, Christians need to understand the significance of the Holy Spirit’s presence in their heart. Once understood, the believer will begin to truly experience, not just His presence, but also His powerful work. There is nothing more reassuring and peaceful in life than experiencing the powerful presence of God’s Spirit as He works in our daily lives.

In John’s Gospel, Jesus makes some metaphorical statements which help us see that Jesus is More Than Just a Name. These powerful proclamations help us better understand who He is and help us see God’s purpose for Him.

In this passage, Jesus continues to pronounce His seven “woes” upon the Jewish leaders of the day whom He repeatedly calls “blind guides,” “serpent,” and “hypocrites.” Toward the end of the passage, we find Jesus almost breaking down under the burden of His sorrow over His chosen people who just don’t understand the nature of His Gospel and failed to recognize their long-awaited Messiah in the hour of their visitation.

In John’s Gospel, Jesus makes some metaphorical statements which help us see that Jesus is More Than Just a Name. These powerful proclamations help us better understand who He is and help us see God’s purpose for Him.

Jesus said we are to thirst and to hunger for His righteousness. That means we are to desire an authentic Christian lifestyle. The fourth beatitude says those who are filled are not those who have their hunger and thirst met, but those who are continually hungering and thirsting. Don’t settle for the bits and pieces either. Go for all of it. If you want to be like Christ and live like Christ, then you must hunger and thirst for the full righteousness of Christ.

The gospel is the best and most important news ever given to the world. It’s good news because it comes directly from the Creator. It’s good news because it tells us what Jesus Christ has done for us. It’s good news because it transforms those who put their trust in it. The gospel is the central message of the Bible.

Are you ready and willing to commit and put in the necessary work required to become a daily worshiper of King Jesus? This message is designed to help us grow in our knowledge and our prayer life, with the hopes of becoming the Christian who worships God in “spirit and truth”.

Jesus told a Samaritan woman at the well of Jacob that God is seeking those who will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Most of us at least now and again enter into wholehearted worship overwhelmed by God’s Spirit, but to worship God in Truth we must come to a point of awe at God’s worthiness to be worshiped. Only then can we fully enter into the spirit of worship which God desires from us.

Many people aren’t aware that the often quoted John 3:16 is part of a nighttime conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus – one of the Jewish leaders of that time. During this conversation, Jesus explained the concept of spiritual rebirth through faith in Him.

As Christ followers we must honestly examine our motivations for our service to the Gospel. If we find we are not following the Lord for the right reasons, we must confess this sin before God, and seek His strength and guidance to bring us back into truly godly fellowship.
